The Peachtree Bluff Series began with me, sprawled out on the floor in total despair, certain that my writing career was over. (Isn’t that so often the way?)

My first two novels had released, and I had written a third, feeling confident about my trajectory in the writing world until… My publisher didn’t want it. You might not know this, but publishing is a hard business, a competitive one, difficult to break into, maybe even harder to stay. So I was sure of one thing: My career was over.

I headed out on the Lies and Other Acts of Love tour, pinned on a happy face, and prepared myself to savor every moment. The dream was over, but I would still hold onto every second while I could.

While I was out on tour, I got a phone call from an editor whose name I recognized because she was someone I really wanted to work with. As it turns out, she loved the manuscript my publishing house had rejected. She wanted to publish it. But, first? She wanted to build my career out with a series.

I don’t know what came over me that day, but I pitched the idea for the Peachtree Bluff Series on a whim. And she loved it. She bought the series, and, I didn’t know it yet, but that was the moment that everything would change for me.

I’m so grateful for her. I’m so grateful I didn’t stay on that floor, that I got up and pitched this story, and kept going, even when it was hard. And I’m so, so, so grateful to YOU and to every single reader who has picked up one of my books, read it, and recommended it to a friend. YOU have made Peachtree Bluff a word-of-mouth success. YOU are the reason I got to write this fifth book in the series, Falling for Peachtree Bluff! And I couldn’t ever, ever thank you enough for that.
