A Happier Life is in Woman’s World! Our Last Goodreads Giveaway! I’m in Parents! And So Much More!

Thanks, Matthew Sedota, for the great pics!

Myrtle Beach Days!

I spent a long weekend in Myrtle Beach last weekend for my son’s final AAU basketball tournament of the summer. They did GREAT! And I had a fabulous event with Bookends and the Little River Chamber of Commerce and signed tons of stock at the Barnes & Noble in Myrtle Beach Commons while I was there! This week, I am heading to Palmetto Bluff for a few fun-filled days and a great event with Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC. In the meantime, I am savoring every moment of summer with my boys, trying to get on the beach and on the water as much as humanly possible… While working on my new book, of course!

A Happier Life is in Woman’s World:

I wouldn’t say I have favorites of my books… But I can say that some are more personal than others. And, of all my books, A HAPPIER LIFE might just be the MOST personal. It’s set in my beloved Beaufort and has roots in two pieces of my own family history. So to see it gracing Woman’s World Magazine alongside dear friends is just so special. If you haven’t checked out last summer’s book… I hope you will! It is available and hardback, paperback, e-book, audio, and large print!

Parents!

I was so honored that Parents magazine asked my advice for how to raise a reader. And, now, any time my son thinks I’m wrong, I can just refer back to that time that Parents called me an “expert!” Win, win, right? If you’re looking for tips on how to get your kids to read more, check it out!

One of the things I discussed was how, on Friends & Fiction, many of the authors we have interviewed have cited that their parents didn’t really censor what they read much, and that made them avid readers. So interesting! Speaking of Friends & Fiction…

This Week on Friends and Fiction:

Join us Wednesday, July 30th at 7pm Eastern on the F&F Facebook page and YouTube channel as Patti Callahan Henry & Mary Kay Andrews welcome #1 NYT-bestselling author Susan Wiggs to discuss her wrenching but life-affirming new novel, Wayward Girls, based on a true story of survival, friendship, and redemption set in the turbulent Vietnam era in Buffalo, New York.
