Hello from the packing headquarters, formerly known as my house. Y’all, I leave Sunday and there is stuff everywhere. With flights being as wonky as they are right now and some very tight times between landing and events, I have to be in a carry-on bag for the entire first two weeks. I know. It’s, like, against every fiber of what I know. I know there are those unicorns who can pack like that. I am not a unicorn. I am a worst-case-scenario over-packer who really likes to have a different pair of shoes for each outfit. All that to say: This is my Everest.
So, I have a friend taking a bag for me in Kinston so I can unload some of the stuff in my carry-on and then my dear friend Ron Block in Cleveland—y’all know and love him from Friends & Fiction—is not only letting me send a suitcase to him, but he is also mailing one back home for me. Even still, that’s five whole days in one carry-on. But I have done it! If you had told me ten years ago that I’d be able to pack for five days in a carry-on… Well, I digress.
Here’s the point of the story: Come see me on tour! Seeing you guys keeps me going and makes all the spreadsheets and shipping and packing logistics totally worth it. Maybe even the rental car buses. (Maybe.) Check out my tour dates on my website!
