My Love Letter to Indie Bookstores

Good morning, friends. Sending you lots of love today during this difficult time for so many individuals and families throughout our country. Hoping you and yours are all safe and well!

I think every single one of us has been affected in some way or another by Coronavirus, and our wonderful independent bookstores have been hit hard. As I say above, I grew up in my bookstores–Bookmasters and The Literary Bookpost (now South Main Book Co!)–in Salisbury, NC. Books were like groceries in my house: necessities. And there are few places I’d rather while away an hour than a bookstore. So many worlds to discover, so many lessons to learn.

Many of our bookstores have been forced to close right now but are still open for online orders. In fact, many in our NC towns–I’m looking at you Downtown Books in Manteo, NC and The Country Bookshop in Southern Pines, NC–are making deliveries right to people’s doors!

Giveaway

Head over to Instagram and/or Facebook. I’ll be giving away two copies of The Southern Side of Paradise each place–one for you and one for a friend of your choosing who could use some cheering up while they’re social distancing! You are more than welcome to enter both places. All you have to do to enter is tag your favorite indie bookstore in the comments!

Feels Like Falling

Feels Like Falling releases April 28 and can be preordered from your favorite bookstore now! The following small stores will be taking preorders for signed, personalized copies!

  • I’ve finished the Secret trilogy as I call it. Now, my sister reading. Waiting for Feels Like Falling. The Secret trilogy is a great read for the beach or pool. I just floated in the pool and read the first one there.. Thanks!
