Happy October, everyone! We are in celebration mode over at our house because 1. It’s little Will’s third birthday!! (Woo hoo!)
2. I finished my next book yesterday! Finally… My goal was to finish it in September. I’m pretty sure I wrapped it all up about 11 p.m. last night. But if I hadn’t given myself a deadline it would have been January. So I’m calling it a win.
3. My talented, adorable, super generous and smart friend, Ann Wertz Garvin, is doing a special giveaway just for us! YAY! I’m going to write more about her amazing novel, The Dog Year, tomorrow. (And for a few days after because I have a LOT to say about this beautiful novel!) But, since it’s a day of grand, three-year-old celebration, I’m going to keep it short today. Enter to win a copy of Ann’s novel and the audio version. It will definitely give you something to look forward to on your morning commute!
You may have seen Anne on Huff Post Books this week. Here’s a little snippet: “Kirkus Review said, ‘Garvin is insightful about grief and the pervasiveness of denial. With humor and compassion, (The Dog Year) is hopeful but not saccharine, this novel offers a deeply sympathetic view of recovery from grief.’ Join Dr. Lucy Peterman on her journey from grieving to living as she discovers that a chaotic, unplanned life might be the sweetest of all.”
Don’t forget to enter! I can’t wait to see who wins! Wishing you all falling leaves, cool breezes and a generally fabulously fall start to October!
